Painting intimacy, longing, and queer connection through the sapphic gaze.
Los Angeles–based figurative oil painter exploring desire, identity, and emotional tension through large-scale oil paintings.
ABOUT THE WORK
MY PROCESS
I combine classical oil painting techniques with contemporary storytelling, drawing from my background in graphic design and digital media. Most paintings begin with carefully directed reference photography before evolving through layers of oil paint, lighting, texture, and atmosphere.
My work often balances representational painting with moments of abstraction... allowing figures to emerge clearly while backgrounds, movement, and emotion dissolve into something more atmospheric and interpretive. I’m interested in the space between realism and memory: where a moment feels emotionally true without needing to be rendered perfectly.
Since 2019, documenting the process has also become part of the work itself. Through video storytelling, music, and behind-the-scenes content, I aim to bridge traditional fine art with modern digital culture.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“My art treats women as subjects... souls to be understood, not objects to be owned.”
I paint from the sapphic gaze to liberate and celebrate stories that have long been muted, distorted, or discarded by the patriarchal lens, including my own. My work reclaims the right to look, to feel, and to be seen. The women in my paintings are not objects of desire but subjects of depth - souls to be understood rather than owned.
Through large-scale figurative oil paintings, I explore the full expanse of queer love: its intimacy, tension, and tenderness. My practice is an act of reclamation and a safe space for those who have ever questioned the safety or validity of their love.
At my core, I am a storyteller. Each painting invites you into a quiet exchange, offering glimpses into the pulse of sapphic intimacy. From serene fantasies to stormy longing, from fiery want to aching distance… these are the moments that remind us: our love has always been valid, and our stories deserve to be seen.
DIGITAL STORY-TELLING AND COMMUNITY
For the past 7 years, I’ve shared my artistic process online, building an international audience through storytelling-driven content surrounding my paintings and creative practice.
What began as documenting artwork evolved into a larger conversation around queer identity, intimacy, vulnerability, and emotional narrative. Through sharing my work online, it allowed me to connect with the LGBTQ+ community all over the world and find a sense of belonging through the stories, emotions, and experiences reflected within the work.
Social media has allowed me to create a bridge between traditional oil painting and a modern digital audience in a way that feels immediate, emotional, and deeply personal.
