FAQs
How long will my order take to ship after it is placed?
Our products are all made-to-order. This means it can take up to 10 business days to process and be made before it is shipped out to you (usually more like 2-5 days). Once your order is shipped you will receive an email with tracking information. If you have not received an email with tracking information AFTER 10 business days, please send me an email (inquiries@halietorris.com) or message me on my contact page so that I can give you more details on the shipment of your order.
SHIPPING TIMES WILL VARY. Once an order has been shipped with tracking I am no longer responsible for it and I cannot guarantee an exact shipping time. Shipping times can vary greatly depending on what country the item is being shipped to, so please be patient and check your tracking information for detailed shipping information.
In general, a package should only take a handful of days to arrive if it is being shipped domestically.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, I offer international shipping to most of the world. If you do not see your country at checkout please contact me and I’ll add it for you.
How should I care for my item?
For longest lasting quality, please machine wash your item inside out on a cold gentle cycle.
For best results and longevity - let air dry or turn garments inside out to tumble dry.
I just received my order and there is something wrong with it, what so I do?
Email me at inquiries@halietorris.com with your name, order information, the issue you are experiencing, and a photo if possible. If there has been a mistake on my end I will be happy to solve it for you. Please email me within two weeks of receiving your item.
How do I know what size to order?
Each item has its own sizing chart included in the listing (imperial and metric)
Mostly all of my clothing items are unisex (typically men's sizing) so please read the sizing charts carefully to ensure you are getting the fitting that you want as I DO NOT OFFER RETURNS OR EXCHANGES.
As a 6 foot tall woman myself… I usually would wear a large hoodie/sweatshirt and medium tee. Hats are one size fits most.
****crop tops are the only clothing item specifically in women's sizing so they will fit smaller than our other items, please take this into consideration when ordering your shirt!
What brand are the clothing items?
T-shirts: Gilman
Crewnecks, hoodies: Gildan
Crop tops: Generic brand (100% organic cotton)
*In the rare case of a stocking issue, the clothing brand may vary
I accidentally ordered the wrong thing / put in the wrong address, what do I do?
I am not responsible for an incorrect order or address being entered. PLEASE double check everything before you compete your order.
With that being said, I want to be sure you get what you want! So please contact me immediately by email (inquiries@halietorris.com) to let me know. If you have ordered the wrong item (size, color, design etc) and let me know before it starts to be printed I will be able to adjust it to the one that you want as long as it is the same price. If I do not receive the email before the product starts being made then there is nothing that I can do to change it. If you have entered the wrong address I am able to adjust it up until the point that the package is shipped, if the package is sent out before I am able to adjust the address, I am not responsible for this.

Painting intimacy, longing, and queer connection through the sapphic gaze.
Los Angeles–based figurative oil painter exploring desire, identity, and emotional tension through large-scale oil paintings.
ABOUT THE WORK
MY PROCESS
I combine classical oil painting techniques with contemporary storytelling, drawing from my background in graphic design and digital media. Most paintings begin with carefully directed reference photography before evolving through layers of oil paint, lighting, texture, and atmosphere.
My work often balances representational painting with moments of abstraction... allowing figures to emerge clearly while backgrounds, movement, and emotion dissolve into something more atmospheric and interpretive. I’m interested in the space between realism and memory: where a moment feels emotionally true without needing to be rendered perfectly.
Since 2019, documenting the process has also become part of the work itself. Through video storytelling, music, and behind-the-scenes content, I aim to bridge traditional fine art with modern digital culture.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“My art treats women as subjects... souls to be understood, not objects to be owned.”
I paint from the sapphic gaze to liberate and celebrate stories that have long been muted, distorted, or discarded by the patriarchal lens, including my own. My work reclaims the right to look, to feel, and to be seen. The women in my paintings are not objects of desire but subjects of depth - souls to be understood rather than owned.
Through large-scale figurative oil paintings, I explore the full expanse of queer love: its intimacy, tension, and tenderness. My practice is an act of reclamation and a safe space for those who have ever questioned the safety or validity of their love.
At my core, I am a storyteller. Each painting invites you into a quiet exchange, offering glimpses into the pulse of sapphic intimacy. From serene fantasies to stormy longing, from fiery want to aching distance… these are the moments that remind us: our love has always been valid, and our stories deserve to be seen.
DIGITAL STORY-TELLING AND COMMUNITY
For the past 7 years, I’ve shared my artistic process online, building an international audience through storytelling-driven content surrounding my paintings and creative practice.
What began as documenting artwork evolved into a larger conversation around queer identity, intimacy, vulnerability, and emotional narrative. Through sharing my work online, it allowed me to connect with the LGBTQ+ community all over the world and find a sense of belonging through the stories, emotions, and experiences reflected within the work.
Social media has allowed me to create a bridge between traditional oil painting and a modern digital audience in a way that feels immediate, emotional, and deeply personal.
